Consequences Of Increased Global Meat Consumption On The Global Environment|Stanford Woods Institute

“‘People aren’t going to stop eating meat,’ said Harold A. Mooney, professor of biology and a senior fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford.”

I disagree. People just need to be better informed in order to, hopefully, make wiser decisions:

The unfortunate animals raised on overcrowded industrial factory-feedlots are far from the picture of health: They spend their lives standing in their own filth; they’re force-fed grains (GMO corn?), despite being evolutionarily-designed to consume/digest grasses; unhealthy diet = unhealthy animal, so, they’re subjected to massive injections of antibiotics; the ranchers need to move them from the farm to the rendering plant ASAP, so, they get injected with GMO growth-hormones to fatten them up faster. (Note to self:  Look up if any of that GMO pharma-crap ends up in the meat…  Oh, never mind.  I’m a vegetarian.)

Cattle-raising is massively devastating to our environment, too.  Most grain production is for feeding all those cattle.  All those acres of antibiotic/hormone-laced manure have got to be bad for any ground-water or nearby bodies of water.  Cattle burp and pass gas every few minutes: that’s a huge amount of unnecessary, damaging methane going into the atmosphere.

Wow.  With the collective toxicity of cattle, cars and people…  Humanity might be doomed.

Or, they can begin making smarter, informed choices.

Here’s an interesting article on reducing some of the harmful impact of the beef industry:

If The Air Force Stopped Investigating UFOs in 1969, Then, What The Heck Is This…?

From 1947 until 1969, the United States Air Force was involved in the investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) under Project Blue Book (Initially called Project Sign, then Project Grudge).  Blue Book was headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.  It was terminated on December 17, 1969.  Out of 12,618 sightings reported to Project Blue Book a total of 701 cases remained “unidentified”.

The conclusions of Project Blue Book are as follows: “(1) no UFO reported, investigated, and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security; (2) there has been no evidence submitted to or discovered by the Air Force that sightings categorized as “unidentified” represent technological developments or principles beyond the range of present-day scientific knowledge; and (3) there has been no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as “unidentified” are extraterrestrial vehicles.”

The Air Force’s statement goes on to say: “Since Project BLUE BOOK was closed, nothing has happened to indicate that the Air Force ought to resume investigating UFOS.”

If the above official Air Force Statement is true, then…

Why did the following excerpt from Air Force Instruction 10-206 include instructions on how to report an unidentified flying object?

And, then… why did this entire section of Air Force Instruction 10-206 disappear from the Instruction Manual after The Huffington Post made an inquiry to the Air Force as to what these specific instructions meant?

Curiouser and curiouser…

Vital Intelligence Sightings

SUBMIT REPORT WHEN (DESCRIPTION):

Any/all unidentifiable, suspicious, or hostile traffic (land,

aerospace, or sea) which, because of its nature, course, or actions, may constitute

a threat to the security of the US or Canada.

Includes reports received from airborne platforms.

5.6.3. Report the following specific sightings:

5.6.3.1. Hostile or unidentified aircraft, which appears directed against the United States,

Canada, or their forces.

GUIDE FOR CIRVIS REPORTING

The CIRVIS report is a narrative report explaining the sighting. A specific format is not required.  Provide as much specific detail as possible to aid decision makers in responding to the sighting.  Include the following information, if possible, along with any other information, which may be significant:

1. CIRVIS report identification.

2. Identification of the object sighted.

a. For identifiable objects, include number and identification of the aircraft, vessel, missile, or individuals seen.

b. For unidentifiable objects, give a description including shape, size (compared to a known object e.g., pea, silver dollar, baseball, basketball, fighter aircraft, or C-5), number and formation, any discernible features or details (e.g., color, trail or exhaust, sound).

c. Include any observed identification (e.g., insignia, lettering, flags).

3. The position of the object. Include the date and time (GMT) of the sighting. This can be indicated by any of the following methods:

a. Latitude and longitude.

b. Over a radio fix.

c. True bearing and distance from a radio fix.

d. Over a well-known or well-defined geographic point.

4. Description of the course of the object:

a. Altitude.

b. Direction of travel.

c. Speed.

d. Description of flight path and maneuvers.

e. What first called attention to the object?

f. Angle or elevation and azimuth when first observed.

g. How long was the object visible?

h. Angle or elevation and azimuth upon disappearance.

i. How did the object disappear?

5. Manner of observation.

a. State how observed: ground-visual, ground-electronic, air-visual, and air-electronic. (If electronic, specify system).

b. Were optical aids (telescope, binoculars, etc.) used?

6. Conditions when sighting the object.

a. Location of observer. (Use latitude/longitude, a named geographic landmark, or other logical references.) If the sighting is made while airborne, include type of aircraft, identification number, altitude, heading, speed, and home station.

b. Light conditions (use one of the following terms: night, day, dawn, dusk).

c. Weather conditions (ceiling, visibility, clouds, thunderstorms, temperature, winds, etc.).

7. Interception or identification actions taken (if feasible, complying with existing directives).

8. Location, approximate altitude, and general direction of flight of any air traffic or balloon releases in the area, which could possibly account for the sighting.

9. Preliminary analysis of the possible cause of the sightings.

10. Existence of physical evidence, such as materials and photographs.

11. Name, organization, and means of contacting the reporting individual.

US-led Coalition Bills Iraq $260 Million For… Failure to Stop ISIS Advances

ISIL (ISIS) and Ebola have been running neck and neck in the race to be the mainstream media’s Imminent-Danger Darlings (“This is CNN: Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.”).

I thought I’d dig up a truthful, timely and pertinent article on the fight against ISIL (ISIS).

When I heard that a U.S.-led coalition was going to be flying sorties/air strikes against ISIL, my first thought was, “Well, those a**holes are finally gonna get what they deserve.”.

Sadly, not only has ISIL getting their just desserts not been the result of military activities but, apparently, the U.S.-led coalition is planning on billing Iraq hundreds of millions of dollars (that Iraq never agreed to pay in the first place) for… what exactly?

Cities are reported under siege.  Cities are allowed to fall (It’s not a tactically significant target.”).  But, significant for whom?  The people living somewhere ISIL is about to overrun?  The priceless archaeological treasures which are part of humanity’s collective heritage and are being plundered?  I’ve heard war is good for the economy, but shouldn’t it also be good for something other than making money?  If that’s at all possible?

The Iraqi people and their political leadership were optimistic when the United States first announced its intention to form an international military coalition to assist Iraq in its war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). At the time, everyone assumed that a solution was close and that Western jet fighters will wipe out ISIS. They all believed that the Obama administration will be Iraq’s savior from terrorism.

“Ever since the onset of the aerial campaign, coalition aircrafts have focused on the border region between Mosul under ISIS control and Iraq’s Kurdistan in the north, raising suspicions that the West is actually worried about its own interests and is not fighting terrorism, especially since some threatening rallies have emerged near Baghdad, but the West has so far refrained from targeting them.”

Here’s a direct link to an eye-opening article about the coalition’s activities, the actual results of those activities and the cost (From globalresearch.ca):

Re: Your dismissal of the ‘leaked’ Majestic 12 Documents:

A single cut-and-pasted signature on a single document does not preclude the veracity of any of the others.  And, even if most of the documents are be proven to be fakes, it’s the ones that are genuine which have significance, not so much the fake ones.

Also (for those of whom cannot tolerate the ET hypothesis, as well as for those of whom cling to it and disregard all other possibilities), as pointed out – repeatedly – by the brilliant Jacques Vallee – human beings have been passing down and recording stories of observations of strange lights/objects in the skies and of abductions of individuals by non-human beings since ancient times.  Whether the events are perceived as religious/Angelic experiences; contact with Faeries/The Good People; with demons; or with ufonauts… although the names given to the objects and beings have changed numerous times over the centuries, their outward appearance, movement, behavior, related phenomena and physical traces left behind are remarkably the same.

Every Freedom-Loving Sentient Being Should Know Graham Hancock

If you have never heard Graham Hancock speak… (*sigh)… Nevermind.

Please, just allow me to offer you a little taste:

“We believe that we live in a free society and have liberties.  This is our most cherished possession after centuries of struggling for liberty – that we are free.  But if I am not sovereign over my own consciousness, if I cannot take decisions about my own consciousness, then I might as well not talk about any other freedom, because without my consciousness I’m nothing.  And, if some government dictate may tell me what I may and may not do to my consciousness, without causing any harm to others… if I can be imprisoned simply because I explore, harmlessly my own consciousness, then I am not free.  And I do not live in a free society.  And all this humbug about democracy is rubbish”.

Wow.  He hits the proverbial nail on the head, doesn’t he?

You’re Welcome.

The SFPD: Keeping Car Seats Warm In The City

(9/26/14.  5:15 am)
I’m really annoyed by and disappointed in the San Francisco Police Department.  A short while ago, I was awakened by the sounds of two people yelling at each other and someone throwing trash into the street. Cans, bottles, metallic objects, paper… whatever was in the corner City-owned can, some imbecile was out there, doing the Haight Street Shuffle and throwing it into the middle of the street, while verbally berating his girlfriend.

I put a great deal of effort into helping to keep my neighborhood clean and safe for everybody everyday. I clean up broken glass. I pick up discarded bottles so they don’t end up as broken glass.  I wash away blood and feces (Yes, it’s gross. Hopefully it’s only canine) from the sidewalks and from in front of shop entryways.  I carry various sidewalk-discarded items to the Goodwill, if they are in good enough condition to re-sell.  I do this for free.  Because I care and because I love and respect my neighborhood.

SFPD officers get paid significant amounts of taxpayer money for putting forth their efforts towards the same goal:  Public Safety.  Or, so I thought (Silly me, I believed the advertising).

I called the SFPD Non-Emergency number shortly before 5am, because the way this guy was going at the trash, he was going to empty the (formerly) full can into the street and then walk away (on to the next trash can) after leaving a huge, unsightly and unsafe mess that would get spread out further and further in every direction.  Of course, I’m going to get a broom and dustpan and gloves and go clean it up before that happens.  But, I can’t do it right now, because the asshole who did it just came back – again – and threw some more trash around and then headed down the street.  But, he might come back yet again and I don’t want to have to clean it up twice.

Anyway, by the time the black-and-white showed up, the dude was tackling his girlfriend to the ground (he’d already shoved her into a metal gate).  She was yelling at him to get off of her.  So, when the police put their spotlight on the couple in mid-knock-down-drag-out, I thought, “Hurray!  Now, the police can/will do something because they caught him in the act of physically assaulting his girlfriend (he’d stopped emptying the trash can by then).  I was wrong.  Whomever was in that squad car did (drum-roll, please) absolutely nothing!  No voice came over the P.A..  No officer exited the car to ask them what was going on.  Nada.  Unless you want to count the conversation they had with some other officer(s) inside a second police car that had rolled up after the first one, watched the end of the wrestling match and then drove up to the first car’s driver’s side window and had a chat whilst the girl started picking up her stuff and the guy just strolled off in the opposite direction. (I could just imagine their conversation: Officer #1: “You deal with this one, I don’t want to have to do the paperwork.” Officer #2: “Nope, I don’t feel like getting out of the car.”) When they finished their visit, I still had hope the police officers would do something.  After all, all of the SFPD squad cars have bumper stickers on them that declare “There’s No Excuse For Domestic Violence”.  Now, I think the stickers are placed there just to cover up rust spots.

I called the SFPD non-emergency number again, shortly after 5am , thoroughly disgusted.  I told the operator what had transpired.  About how the officers who ‘responded’ did nothing.  She asked me why I hadn’t said (in my first phone call) that the guy was hitting the girl.  I told her why:  Because he hadn’t been hitting her at that point.  Unlike when the car rolled up on the couple.  I let her know where the girl was.  I thought she might send someone to check on her.  I let her know the asshole was headed towards Golden Gate Park.  She said she’d let the officers know.  I should have asked her to let some different officers know – like two who would actually do something. They did a repeat performance of… Nothing. How do I know? Because the asshole is back across the street – for the third? fourth? time – adding to his masterpiece.

I just called again – this is getting ridiculous, the near empty can is in the street – and now, apparently, they don’t have a record of my earlier calls.  The reason I think so is that the operator asked if, possibly, I’d given a different address, earlier.

What pisses me off about this is that the SFPD will exit their lane-blocking squad cars in order to jack-up random homeless people all the live-long day (apparently, for being homeless – which is a situation, not a crime) – asking for ID and running their names and telling them to “Move along!”.  But, when I actually call because some fool is creating a hazard and they – with their own eyes – see him assaulting some girl… they do nothing.

And, they make it look so… effortless!

Seeing this makes my day:  A couple of construction workers working on that block just swept it up! Thank You!
